The "Holidays" haven't even officially started and I feel like I have already done enough decorating, crafting, planning, organizing, etc for Halloween to carry me through the next year. Here are some of the things we have done:
I took the boys to the pumpkin patch.
We carved pumpkins.

The school had a "fall" party. The kids here can wear their costumes (even in high school!).
Ricky was very serious about his BINGO game.
At the elementary school, the children actually put on a costume parade for the parents and for each other. Ricky was really excited about the parade:
On the same day as the school parties, we went to the ward Halloween party. I was very grateful for Emily and her friend Katherine. I was on my own with the kids because Rick was giving an exam to his students. They helped me with the little ones so that I could pass out candy.
Now that we are one week past Halloween, I have yet to put the decorations away. I have decided that even when I do put away the decorations, I will leave the costumes out for Andrew. He LOVES to dress up. On Friday night, I found him in his bed like this.
Tonight, he is sleeping like this:
All of this celebrating wears me out a bit. I have to remind myself that even though I'm cleaning up messes (especially after the Haunted Houses and pumpkin carving), I am also creating happy memories. Happy memories are worth a little mess and chaos.
We made "Haunted Houses" with graham crackers, chocolate frosting, and candy.

It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. I finally just scraped all the vinyl ghosts, bats and spiders off my windows. Now I need to start thinking Christmas. This is our first Christmas in our new home and I have no idea where we are going to pout anything!
