Grandma's Holiday Handiwork

Every year Grandma Mergenthaler makes church clothes for the kids for Christmas and Easter. The girls also get a special dresses on their birthdays.


We use to live close enough to Grandma that she was able to take pictures of the kids in their new clothes. She is great at getting the children into the best pose with everybody not only looking at the camera, but also donning their sweet smiles.


Now, however, the duty falls on me to take the pictures. You will see from the following pictures that I am not as talented as she is at getting the right picture. I did try, and I even enlisted Rick's help (he was nice about it), but you can see for yourself what we ended up with.










At least the kids and clothes are cute even if the pictures aren't perfect! Thank you, Grandma!!

How sweet. I think the pictures are great, and the dresses and vests are precious! We miss seeing their cute Sunday outfits every week!

Gavin in a Million Words or Less

 Way back when Emily was in 6th grade, her teacher, Ms. Grey, asked parents to write about thier children in a million words or less. I posted what I wrote about Emily on our blog. I wish I were more organized and tech-savvy to find the link to that post and put it here, but I'm not. It's a nice idea that maybe I'll do later. Anyway, you get to read what I wrote to Gavin's fifth grade teacher who made the same requests of parents: Gavin is the youngest of seven children.
