Labor Day Clearance

Rick stayed home with the kids Monday morning while I went to get the $1.99 summer clothes at the mall.

We had our ultrasound today. I am just on my way to school to eat lunch with the kids and to tell them if they are going to have a new brother or sister. When I get back, I'll tell you which clothes I will be taking back to the store.

Clue: Andrew knows which outfits are staying.

OK, I just spent 2 hours at the school to catch three little students' lunch breaks. Did you figure out if we are having a boy or girl? Let's just say, "Boy, do I have a LOT of little girl clothes to take back to the store." All of us were taken by surprise on this one. We thought this little papoose was a girl, but we are glad to welcome another handsome baby boy into our home. We can't wait to meet him! Just two minor problems: 1. Our last 2 boys were born in May in Seattle, so that means all our boy clothes are in the opposite seasons and Iowa winters and summers require very specific clothing. 2. We only had girl names in mind. I have one suggestion from my cute friends' daughter, Gwen Stefani--I just don't think that will work out.

Congratulations!!!! I am so happy for you. I thought for sure it would be a girl. But I am excited because it is another playmate for Josh. Yeah! Josh will now be right between Andrew and ???? I guess we'll find out the name when you get a few suggestions. I'll try and think of a few.

Congrats on another boy! Good luck on a name. Those are always so hard to decide. We like that little red fire truck outfit. Carter has the same one!

We had the exact opposite experience. I had 2 boy names in mind and couldn't think of anything for a girl. I think they were Nathan and Daniel if that helps any. Congrats on the new little boy coming your way!

Congrats! That's wonderful news. I'm sure Andrew will adore a new baby. Three in a row works out well for sharing bedrooms, toys, clothes, etc. How fun!

Lyme Disease??

Let me just preface this by saying that I am soooo grateful for good health insurance. I have been to the Dr. for the kids lately so often, that I am embarrassed that they recognize our family when we walk in the door. So, here's Ricky's story. A couple of weeks ago he was extremely sick. He had a fever for over a week, complained that he couldn't move his legs, and ended up with an awful looking rash all over his body. We went to the Dr. 2 times for this. The first time, she said, it was a virus and it should run its course. When Ricky was getting worse, instead of better, we took him back in to a quick clinic where the nurse diagnosed him with strep (even though the short test was negative). Well, after a priesthood blessing and antibiotics (which we discovered later that he didn't even need to take--and in fact they may have made him feel worse), he got better.
