Believe it or not, Andrew is old enough for preschool. I am involved in a co-op with members of our church. We have 5 boys and 2 girls, and all of them are very good kids. In years past when I have taught preschool, I have often had a trouble maker or two. All of these kids are great listeners and well-behaved most of the time. We have preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours. Our first class was at our house. The kids were kind of shy and nervous on their first day--you can tell this from their facial expressions in their "first day of school" picture.
Now that we are a month into preschool, Andrew is getting the hang of it and likes to go. At first he was wary of the experience. He is not very social and likes to play independently. In large groups, he gets very quiet. Preschool has been a good avenue to help him be part of the group and participate in activities with friends.
Last Thursday, we had our first field trip to Wilson Apple Orchard. Following are some pictures from our trip:

As you can imagine, Andrew's favorite part of the field trip was our craft. We stamped bags with apple slices. They turned out cute and Andrew always needs another bag. He couldn't wait for the bag to dry so that he could fill it with stuff to keep on his bed at night. Do you think Andrew has hoarding tendencies? I kind of do. This week, however, he has been really good. We talked about keeping our rooms clean and organized and how it is important to keep our bed clutter-free so that we can sleep in it. He helped me put away a lot of things and didn't get too upset. Now, I have to train the other kids to help him keep his bed free from junk. Instead of taking the time to help Andrew put toys in the their correct places, they throw it all on his bed because "that's Andrew's and that's where he wants it." After our talk, he stubbornly threw everything on the floor that they had thrown on his bed and insisted that the room needed to be clean. He wasn't willing to do the work, though. He is only 3, so that's OK for now.
