For the last couple of months, I would take pictures on my phone and they would instantly disappear. About a week ago, they all miraculously returned. I thought I would share them with you before they disappear again.

In December, I took Ricky and a couple of his friends to a UI volleyball game. They had a kids' carnival there where they could play games and win prizes. There was a clown making balloons too. It was a really fun and inexpensive activity--one of the benefits of living in a college town. Ricky just loved the pink UI sweatband. So did his friend, Luke.
We spent Thanksgiving at a friends house. We had a lot of fun. Sean even got a manicure.
We have had a very warm winter thus far with several 50-60 degree days. This is so unusual compared to the below zero wind chill temperatures and blizzards we are used to experiencing this time of year. Emily took advantage of the warm weather to climb a tree to read a book.
The following pictures are from another college town, activity. The men's UI basketball team was sponsoring a family fun night where you could buy 4 tickets with 4 hot dogs and 4 drinks for $20. We took our whole family (except for Sean) and a couple of friends.
You should have seen us managing 8 drinks, while putting toppings on 8 hot dogs. It was a little crazy. As we were leaving with our hot dogs, Rick overheard the person in line behind us ordering a hot dog. The vendor said, "I'm sorry, we are now out of hot dogs." No joke!
Another fun thing about small town college sports . . . lots of exposure to the mascot. Herky (the Hawkeye mascot) was at the game passing out candy to kids. Emily's friend was smart enough to bring a Sharpie so that he could sign their Iowa shirts.

That's it for pictures from my phone. With basketball season in full swing, my next assignment is to get some good shots of the kids in action. Rick is coaching two teams: Ricky's and Makayla's. Emily is playing on two teams: junior high and a club team. With all that basketball, I should remember my camera and not have my arms full of little boys long enough to take some pictures.
