Ricky

Today was the last day of school!  Hooray! . . . . I guess. . . .

We are busy preparing for Ricky's baptism in two days.  After that, I will be in girls' camp mode.  I am a girls' camp director again.  I wish I could go back in time and thank the girls' camp directors from the years I went to camp.  They made camp such a great experience for me that I was excited about going again as an adult.  I had no idea how much work it actually is!  Now that I have been a camp director for a few years, I know how difficult and stressful it is, and I am sorry I wasn't more appreciative as a teenager.


Anyway, because of everything we have going on right now, I don't have time to post all that I would like to, but I think this little video sums things up.

Ricky brought it home from school today.  At Valentine's Day, Ricky's teacher had the students write compliments to each other.  She recorded the kids reading their compliments.  Then, she compiled each student's compliments with pictures she had taken of the kids over the course of the year.  I think it is a lovely gift and the compliments describe Ricky's personality so well--especially the last one.


Congratulations on your special day, Ricky!  We love you!

You have one stressful month coming up. I bet you'll be glad when it's girls camp and the baptism are over. Tell Ricky congratulations and relax!

Gavin in a Million Words or Less

 Way back when Emily was in 6th grade, her teacher, Ms. Grey, asked parents to write about thier children in a million words or less. I posted what I wrote about Emily on our blog. I wish I were more organized and tech-savvy to find the link to that post and put it here, but I'm not. It's a nice idea that maybe I'll do later. Anyway, you get to read what I wrote to Gavin's fifth grade teacher who made the same requests of parents: Gavin is the youngest of seven children. His three oldest siblings have flown the nest, so he talks to them on the phone and looks forward to holiday visits. This summer, his oldest sister had a baby, so he’s an Uncle!
