Ricky and Andrew's birthdays are three days apart and usually fall around the weekend of Mother's Day. I feel so blessed to have these boys in our family! What better way to celebrate Mother's Day than to celebrate the birth of a child (or two)?

With everything we had going on Saturday, Andrew's birthday was short, sweet, and ran past bed time. Andrew chose tomato soup for dinner, and nearly licked the bowl clean.
OK, he did lick the bowl clean!
Andrew loved the books he got from Grandma and Grandpa Gudgel and slept with them for a few nights. Be sure to notice Andrew's amazing outfit in the following picture--he is wearing a basketball jersey on top of a Power Rangers shirt with striped pajama shorts.
The rest of his presents were mainly focused on fun family activities. He got a big box of sidewalk chalk and a swimming pool. All of the kids got new beach towels to use with the pool. I have a cute video of him talking about his "Car" towel (Lightning McQueen), but uploading videos to Blogger takes forever.
One thing Ricky was really looking forward to was getting a bike. Daddy picked out a cool Spiderman bike for him, which he has already spent hours on--even in the rain.
Andrew's birthday was on Saturday. It was a very busy day (as Saturdays usually are). I was involved in a Stake Relief Society activity for most of the day, so Rick stayed home with the kids. The house was sparkling clean when I got home (the perfect Mother's Day gift). I dread cleaning bathrooms and Rick got through most of them before I got back. Because he worked so hard on the house, the yard work was left until later that afternoon. Just mowing our yard takes around 2 hours. The kids love riding on the lawn mower with Dad, but when he has kids on with him, he drives slower, which makes mowing the yard take longer. It is worth it for the fun they have.

Ricky's birthday was extra exciting because Danny and Kelly were visiting. We also had Rick's collegue and friend, Ryan and Ryan's wife, Nicole, over.
Ricky loved his Milkshake Maker from Grandma and Grandpa Mergenthaler (which I have another cute, hard-to-upload video of). He made himself a milkshake for breakfast the morning after his birthday.
He also got some really cute books from Grandma and Grandpa Gudgel (which we have been reading every day), along with the game, Guess Who? (which we have been playing every day).

Ricky's birthday was also full of fun activities with Uncle Danny, which may be on another post. Whew! this took a while to write--maybe just uploading the videos isn't so bad!
