We almost died but MIRACLES ARE REAL

Greetings from the most beautiful island in the world! I realized that I didn't finish my email last week..I can't remember what happened haha. This week was rockin. Here are some highlights....

--I guess I should explain my title. On Thurday, we were late getting home from Aquiles and biking super fast. It had just rained, so the streets were super slippery. Zus. Mac stuck out her hand to turn and looked behind to see some cars, but she made the turn really fast. In the process, her bike slid out from under her and she skidded across the street. I was worried she'd broken bones because I could not have carried her home from there, so I turn fast to help her get out of the road and slip off my bike as well. At this point, we are both strewn across the street and we scramble to get out because there are headlights coming at us.  Literally one minute there were three cars behind us coming fast and the next the cars were GONE. We were totally fine, but we should've gotten hit by the car! I know for a fact Heavenly Father saved our lives that day! It was amazing.

--We met this lady named Lilliane from Colombia who was just visiting her family there. She spoke Dutch to us and we were like whaaat? But anyways, her family in Colombia told her to find the missionaries and ask them for a Book of Mormon because they are investigating the church there. Three days later, we show up at her house because a lesson fell through in the area! She is AMAZING. We are teaching her tonight and I'm pumped.

--Audrey wants to be baptized! He's so awesome. He gives us homemade popsicle every time we come over. We're just working on getting his wife and boys to sit in.

--Aquiles' baptism is pushed back to next week...jammer, but it's ok because that's when he's gonna be more ready. And Gibi will be able to attend so he can see what it's like! Also, in our second lesson with Gibi, he goes, "I know God loves me" just out of the blue and it made my day because my goal was to help my investigators feel God's love this week. Also, we drove by the beach where they do baptisms this week--most beautiful place ever.

That's all the time that I have, but I hope you all have a wonderful week! Remember that Heavenly Father loves and is aware of all His children.

Love,
Zuster Mergenthaler

From Bonni:  I’m not sure who those people are in that last pic. Looks like a sweet family. I’ll ask next time we talk and add the info.
