This week was amazeballs. Learned so much. Some stuff.....

--had dinner with Br. Statie, Vaquero, and Pablo. We played pool with Br. Statie as my coach and Vaquero as Zr. Tulaga's coach. Vaquero got so into it and it was hilarious. Also, we called Pablo later to see how he was doing and apparently he stayed there hanging out with them until 11:30 and they taught him the Word of Wisdom. Can I get a wooooot for the Bonaire members?
--taught 7 new people who are all awesome including a dutch guy who kind of roasted what we believed but then had a softened heart. My favorite thing he said was when I asked him how he knew there was a God and he goes, "Zou je geloof ma als ik zie ik heb hem gevoelt?" which means would you believe me if I said I've felt him? and then he went on to talk about the Holy Ghost and how it's a warm feeling in his heart and it was SOOO COOL. His name is Michael. He takes his dominican friend Chelo to English class every week to help him even though Michael speaks pretty good English.
--took 8 members teaching with us (aka basically the whole branch) and it was so cool to hear all their testimonies. All the members here are converts to the church, so they testify with POWA and it's the best to be a witness of it.
--gained approximately 6 pounds eating at Vaquero's, but it's ok because I'd endure all the stomach pain in the world for that man. He goes off ranting in Dominican spanish about how important charity is all the time and it's the best. Also, we taught him some English pick-up lines so he could find a girlfriend haha.
--showed up to church to see Ronny sitting quietly in the back. He was the second person there! Made me tear up a little. He's super excited to receive the priesthood. This week he fed us this weird raw seafood that sent me to the bathroom too many times that night, but he said after we ate it we are officially Bonairian, so worth it.
--Zr. Tulaga got this weird fungus on her foot from Suriname, so we contacted a lot of doctors and WOW to get Dutch people to talk to you I guess you just need to get sick because hospital Dutch people are so nice! but pray for her foot because it looks pretty nasty and can apparently spread through her body if she doesn't get it under control..yeeeek.
--had an amazing lesson with Carlos. He goes, "If you're the embodiment of faith, then other people will see it and believe." I was like ummm, future apostle Carlos? He's such an awesome guy and going to the Netherlands to study next week. Man, I'm gonna miss him. The missionaries in the Netherlands are very lucky.
--roasted Omar for wearing a doo rag, so he made me put it on because I insisted I wouldn't look as ridiculous as he did. I was wrong. Pictures below.
There's so much more, but I'm out of time. God is real! Bonaire is awesome. Miracles happen.
Love you guys,
Zuster Mergenthaler
