Our Halloween this year kind of stunk, but we tried to make the best of it.
I was throwing up the night before, so I ended up spending my Halloween dressed up like Sick Mom. The kids had a lot going on at school that I had planned on being a part of, but I stayed home instead and watched the messes pile up around me while I read a book between rushes to the bathroom.
Around 1:00, I got a phone call from the school that Makayla wasn't feeling well. So, I quickly brushed my teeth, put on some jeans, and showed my scary face at the school to pick her up. She missed the class Halloween party and school parade. I think she felt too sick to be really disappointed because she slept most of the afternoon.

Rick was scheduled to go to a dinner as part of a conference they were having at school (I'm still a little annoyed with the dingbat who planned that one!) All day I was wondering how I was going to manage trick or treating when I couldn't even really climb upstairs. Luckily, my being sick was just the excuse Rick needed to get out of attending the dinner. He came home and took Emily, Makayla, and Ricky for a quick run around the neighborhood.

Rick was also feeling pretty miserable that day, so as soon as they got home, we put the kids to bed and went to bed ourselves.
Yay for Halloween!
