Hey, what is going on, my peeps? Elder Mergenthaler
here!!
To be honest, this week was kind of wack because I wasn't in my area for most of the week because of splits, but it was a full week 🙃!!
I was able to be a part of a few miracles.
The first happened on Tuesday. So I'm on splits with this guy who has the same time out on the mission as I do, so our Spanish together isn't that good, but.. that's OK! So we have lessons planned with this one guy, and before this, I'm thinking it's not going to go well, but we get into the lesson and me and my comp are able to give a full-on lesson and answer lots and lots of the guy's questions!! Also, another miracle that happened along with this one is that I was able to speak really well!! (Gift of tongues)
The second miracle that happened this week was while I was with a missionary from Rosario Argentina 🇦🇷 So, we look down at our area book and realize we have no lessons for the day which means we just have to contact all day and see what happens. As we went through the day we end up having like 5 lessons. One of the lessons ended up being a really powerful member lesson, so that was crazy 🤪
The last miracle happened yesterday, on Sunday. Me and my comp had no lessons, so we decided to stop by a bunch of points (people we have met before who might be interested) and members. On our way, we stop by a house and have a really good talk with this guy who's a menos activo who wants to come back to church but can't because he has to stay with his mom because she can't Iive on her own. After the talk with this dude, we set out to walk to our next contact and we hear, "Hola Elders!" We're like, "Hola, como le va," and don't think much of it, but then I'm like maybe we should turn around, so we do, and end up talking to this guy who used to be a member but Is in a really really bad spot in his life. It meant a lot to him that we stopped and talked with him. He said we were angels in the flesh and he completely understood why missions are so important and that the work missionaries do is so needed. We kind of just stood there and listened and helped this guy feel God's love for him but it was just so crazy how big of an impact you have on people as a missionary even though we're just regular people. But anyways that's just a few from this week. And we'll see what happens next week
Wait, I know one thing happening this week--I'm leaving my area. I'M GETTING TRANSFERRED to another part of Mar Del Plata with an American who has the same time as me, sooo let's hope all goes well!
